Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) is working on establishing its own academy, said RB Acting CEO Nurbahriah Eliza binti Abdullah, adding that it will “provide world renowned, best-in-class aviation, customer service and leadership training” paired with the best of Bruneian culture and enhanced learning through the provision of global best practices.
The acting CEO made these remarks at the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing between RB and Laksamana College of Business (LCB) at the RB Campus yesterday.
Nurbahriah Eliza said with a focus on the provision of world-class training and consultancy, the academy will seek to ensure continued personal and professional development to improve both personal and business performances.
On the signing of the MoU between RB and LCB, the Acting CEO said, “RB and LCB represent two leading Bruneian Institutions sharing the mutual objective of delivering professional and high quality services at the heart of what we do. Through this academic collaboration, we are delighted to have our top performing and highly skilled staff as lecturers for LCB’s new Airline Hospitality Business Training. We believe this opportunity will improve their competitiveness in their future advancement while promoting exchanges and cooperation between RB and LCB.”
At RB, Nurbahriah Eliza said “the continuous professional and personal development of our people is always at the forefront of our thinking, by equipping them with the highest performance and world-class standards”.
She said this has resulted in a number of notable achievements and awards over the past year such as the four-star Skytrax ranking and the most recent Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew Award 2020 from World Travel Awards 2020.
Nurbahriah Eliza said it is no secret that with the global flight restrictions caused by the current pandemic, it has been a difficult year for the aviation and travel industries around the world.
“However, while flights may be few, this spare time has given us a window to focus more on the training and development of our people,” she added.
The introduction of LCB’s Airline Hospitality Business Training “is also more than appropriate at this time because when the time comes for the world to spread its wing once more, more highly skilled aviation experts will be needed to help revive the industry”, she said.
