Porridge distributed to mark new Hijrah year

A total of 500 containers of porridge were distributed by the Tutong Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE Tutong) during a ceremony at the Tutong Community Hall on Saturday.

Held in conjunction with the new Hijrah year, the porridge was distributed to the Tutong Youth and Sports Department, Community Development Department (JAPEM), Tutong Language and Literature Bureau, Pusat Bahagia Tutong, Mahad Islam Brunei, Muda Hashim Secondary School and Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain Religious School and Sengkarai Tutong Religious School.

Kampong Bukit Beruang and Telisai Village Consultative Councils and their Muslimah group members also received the porridge.

Head of the Community, Welfare and Sports Bureau (B3K) Haji Bidin bin Haji Mohamad Noor expressed gratitude towards senior citizens at the PKWE Tutong for their contribution in making the event a success as well as thanked B3K members for their assistance.

Head of Senior Citizens Services and Pensions at the JAPEM Atiqah binti Ibrahim was the guest of honour.
