Projek Ikan Pusu’s (PIP) under-14 player Awangku Faris Fadillah and young coach Mohammad Eddy Shahrol Izzat bin Haji Omar have been selected to participate in the Football for Friendship (F4F) 2020 in this upcoming season.
PIP representative Izzul Dzhakirin has also been selected to participate in the programme as a young journalist, according to the academy’s social media.
The selection was made following a virtual kick-off meeting launched by the organising committee of the Gazprom Football for Friendship Programme.
The meeting discussed the schedule of young participants during the final events, composition of the F4F educators’ team, key events of the 2020 season, the nine values and an open draw. The final events will be held between November 27 and December 9.
Awangku Faris Fadillah has been drawn in a team alongside young participants from across the globe including the Philippines, Uruguay and Jamaica.
Mohammad Eddy Shahrol Izzat will coach a team of international participants from Chile, Uruguay, Thailand, Pakistan and Japan.
The F4F programme is an annual international social programme implemented by energy company Gazprom since 2013.
The programme’s objective among others include developing children’s football around the world, encouraging the social involvement of youth in sports and culture and promoting essential human values on a global scale. F4F is also attempting to set a new Guinness World Records for the most users in a football video session.
Each participant is expected to take part, including global ambassador Roberto Carlos and other special guests from the programme’s eighth season.
