Pilot project equips students with 21st Century learning skills

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI) has started a pilot project introducing computational thinking using smart devices among primary and secondary students.

In collaboration with Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) School, the ‘Coding with Smart Devices for Schools’ initiative aims to introduce programming at the early stage, to equip students with the 21st Century learning skills.

AITI Deputy Chief Executive (Development) Julianah binti Haji Ali handed over 15 Bee-bots and 20 Micro:bit Tinker Kit to YSHHB Secondary School Principal Chong Li Chen and YSHHB Primary School Headmistress Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi, during an event at the YSHHB Secondary School.

Indah Sejahtera Development & Services Sdn Bhd (ISDS) will train the teachers to use the devices to make engaging and conducive lessons across the curriculum.

Representatives from AITI, YSHHB School ICT Head of Department and teachers were also present.
