Nine aspiring coaches received certificates after completing the Gol Brasil Futsal Community Coaching Course for Level 1 organised by the Gol Brasil Futsal Institute of Brunei Darussalam (GBFI) at the DAR Takaful Building in the capital yesterday.
The second intake of the two-day course, which commenced on October 16, covered both the theory and practical sessions.
Technical Director of GBFI instructor Haji Puspa bin Haji Muhammad said that the course provided the participants the basics of futsal coaching.
Meanwhile, Advisor of Gol Brasil Futsal Institute of Brunei Darussalam and facilitator volunteer Azimah binti Haji Mohamad said, “The coach has a role to be a facilitator. This means that the coach sets up the game and conditions for learning and provides supervision.”
She added, “Besides, learning technique is not the main objective of coaching but it is a tool.”
“Technical skill must always have a relationship in the game (ie application). When you do the problem solving, the decision making, intuition and technical skills, it needs to be developed in the context of the game.”
Executive Director of Gol Brasil Futsal Institute of Brunei Darussalam Md Nurasfa Nabihan Hakeem bin Haji Puspa was also present at the event.
