Naubat opens at Lapau

The opening ceremony for Naubat, after it was closed for 20 days on the passing of Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim on October 24 at 10.08am, was held at the Lapau Ceremonial Hall in the capital yesterday.

Present was Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, who was also the head of the ceremony.

Also present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Legislative Council members, deputy ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang and Manteri-Manteri Pedalaman as well as other guests.

Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud approached the head of the ceremony that the opening of Naubat was about to begin.

The Tahlil was read by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Meanwhile, the Doa Tahlil and Doa Selamat (Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam) were led by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

The Azan and Iqamat were delivered by Begawan Mudim Haji Metassim bin Haji Metussin.
Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim led the mass Maghrib prayer.

Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad then approached the head of ceremony that the opening of Naubat had been successfully implemented.

The head of delegation then granted an audience to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at Istana Nurul Iman.

The delegation was led by Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad.
