Jerudong International School (JIS) French students in the Senior School (Years 7-13) recently took part in a worldwide online competition organised by Education Perfect and finished in the top 10 for French globally.

Competing with international schools around the world, many of the schools had significantly higher numbers of students enrolled in the competition.

Education Perfect is a web-learning platform that allows students to enhance their knowledge on subjects including languages. Over the course of seven days, 118,534 questions were answered by the students.

JIS shared that the students involved in the week-long online competition embraced the opportunity to learn new words and enjoyed competing against peers from other countries.

JIS Head of European Languages Philippe Poulain said, “We are always keen to enter students in the annual competition as they enjoy seeing the country up high on the scoreboard among other nations.

“We are proud of our students’ resilience to put the name of JIS ahead of other local schools in Southeast Asia and international schools around the globe, while increasing their knowledge of the French vocabulary.

“It was also an opportunity for some of our students to start learning Latin and Greek.”

At JIS, French is taught from Reception level to International Baccalaureate (IB) Level.
