Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) graduates and students were urged not to be complacent regarding their accomplishments, since it marks the beginning of their future successes rather than the end of a journey.

This was said by Assistant Rector (Academic) of UNISSA and organising committee chairperson Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad at the university’s Medal and Book Prize Award ceremony at the Tarindak D’Seni in Jalan Residency held in conjunction with its 10th Hafl Al-Takharruj.

Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara added that graduates and students must be prepared in facing challenges.

“Students continuing their studies need to instil a strong determination in order to achieve their goals, as well as doubling their efforts for success in the future,” she said.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour.

Twelve of the university’s Book Prize recipients were awarded in the category of academic excellence in every programme during their final year; and 31 in the category of excellent student for every academic year in the Bachelor’s degree programme, except for the final year.

Meanwhile, four were from the Al-Quran Al-Karim Course (Arabic), with four more from the Al-Quran Al-Karim Course (English) and one from the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) Course.

Four graduates, who attained First Class Honours, also received the university’s Medal. They are Ahmad Hassanul Fikri bin Haji Asmalee (BScIF); Dayangku Siti Nurkhairina binti Pengiran Metusin (Bachelor Degree in Usuluddin – Tafsir and Hadith); and Syamimi Karmila binti Mohamad Ramlan and Nur Basirah binti Haji Rosmin (both with a Bachelor Degree in the Arabic Language).
