A foreigner was taken into custody after contraband items were found during a police check of his vehicle at Pekan Bangar yesterday.

Temburong Police Station personnel found 125 cartons of cigarettes of various brands and several packets of pills (believed to be Erimin-5) in the vehicle.

The 47-year-old suspect and the seized items were brought to the Temburong Police Station for initial investigations. It was later handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for further action.

Following recent smuggling attempts, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) urges public cooperation in efforts to eradicate criminal activities in the country.
