Coding can empower children’s imagination to create their own digital games or stories enhancing their creativity and problem-solving skills, said Dynamik Technologies Head of Corporate Services Siti Rozana binti Dato Haji Mohd Yunos.

She made the comment during the ‘Brunei Kids Can Code’ programme at the Design & Technology Building, Anggerek Desa yesterday.

“We hope through this programme, we can inspire the youth to take coding from an early age. Coding is a great way to empower children to use their creativity and problem-solving skills,” she said.

Siti Rozana added the children are not only learning a skill for their future, but also they have the channel to express themselves.

Some 40 young coding enthusiasts attended the programme which aims to provide learning opportunities to learn coding through a fun and educational game-based environment.

It will be held on a monthly basis with assistance from student volunteers from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Universiti Teknologi Brunei.

The Brunei Kids Can Code programme was launched in August with a live and interactive coding competition. With support from the Brunei Tourism Board and the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Dynamik Technologies decided to organise a second Brunei Kids Can Code competition in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival.
