Departmental store fined for violating health guideline

A department store in Jalan Muara was slapped with a compound fine of BND5,000 for its promotional sales event last Sunday, that was carried out without complying to the Mass Gathering guidelines, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a press statement today.

MoH in the statement added that the company was found to encourage large gatherings of more than 350 people without implementing any appropriate regulatory measures as a precaution amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MoH also informed that Brunei continued its record of zero COVID-19 cases for eighteen days and 187 days of no local transmission, keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 148.
