Computers, life jackets donated to students

Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) held its community assistance project to hand out contributions and school essentials to students of Sukang and Melilas primary schools recently.

BMC Chief Executive Officer Kaneshige Kubushiro led a 65-member team in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) community project, held in conjunction with BMC’s 10th anniversary.

Volunteers from Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB) and Jeep Owners Group Brunei (JOGB) joined the convoy to the remote villages of Sukang and Melilas.

Sponsorships included desktop computers, standing fans, life jackets and school essentials, which were handed over to the headmasters of both schools.

As part of BMC’s effort in promoting a safety first culture, volunteers installed fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and first aid boxes at both schools and at the Sukang Primary School hostel.

BMC also supplied crusher stones to repair the heavily damaged access roads leading to the schools. Over the years, BMC has continued to help Mukim communities nearby and schools as part of its CSR obligation to support local communities in need and to maintain its social development events to foster good community network relationship.
