World Town Planning Day is held every November 8 by over 30 countries worldwide to celebrate and appreciate the role and importance of planning in development, striving for quality living environment.
This has been the yearly agenda of the Department of Town and Country Planning under the Ministry of Development since 2006.
This year’s celebration will be held on November 19 with the theme ‘Quality Environment Through Planned and Integrated Development’.
In conjunction and in support of World Town Planning Day, a mixture of coloured lights (green, yellow, red, purple and blue) were lit last night at the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge.
Its purpose is to showcase the colours of our land use planning zones, interrelating to the importance of having mixed and integrated developments to create a balanced and sustainable development.
