The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) through the Referee Department organised the closing ceremony of the Basic Referee Course at the Multi-purpose Hall of the NFABD House yesterday. Nineteen participants attended the course facilitated by six instructors.

NFABD President Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan was the guest of honour.

General Secretary of NFABD Mohammad Shahnon bin Haji Mohd Salleh; Deputy General Secretary of NFABD Siti Zuraina binti Abdullah; President of Brunei Darussalam Football Referee Association Haji Hamidon bin Haji Mohd Zin; NFABD executive committee members and senior officials were also present.

The five-day course, held alternately on Friday and Sunday from October 18, educated participants on the basic concepts and approaches to football refereeing.

“The course sought to raise the number of local referees. We need referees we can trust to officiate especially in top matches in Brunei Darussalam,” said Referee Director of NFABD Abdul Razak Anuar.
