The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a statement issued today said that the attire for the public throughout the mourning period remains as usual.
The statement was issued following public confusion over a viral WhatsApp post that listed down mourning dress etiquettes such as the wearing of a white band on a songkok, white headscarves, and tuaha (white armbands) throughout the duration of the mourning period.
The PMO added that this is not true and without basis.
Citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam are mourning for seven days as a mark of shared sorrow and sympathy with the grief of the Royal Family following the passing of Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim on Saturday, 24th October 2020.
