The Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) arrested three people for suspected involvement in online gambling activities at a house in Kampong Pandai Besi.
One suspect was a 40-year-old permanent resident, while the other two are a local man and a woman, aged 25 and 24.
A number of laptops containing the SCR888 gambling program were seized as evidence during the raid, along with cash and CCTV cameras.
The case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Common Gaming Houses Act, Chapter 28.
In a press statement, the RBPF said, “Online gambling is frequently receiving public attention and if not eradicated, will bring negative effects to the country. The RBPF will continue to conduct the monitoring, tracing and detection of criminals who are carrying out illegal activities in this country.”
