Three local men jailed for auto thefts

Three local men, who pleaded guilty to stealing cars, were sentenced to jail by the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Magistrate Mohammad Marzuqi bin Sabtu handed 20 months’ jail term to Amalul Reduan bin Roslan, 29, and Sarudy bin Puasa, 45, taking into account their previous convictions.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Amaluddin bin Mohammad, 27, received a sentence of 16 months’ imprisonment.

DPP Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli revealed in court that the men stole a car from a car park between October 14 and 15, and another in a commercial area in Kiulap between September 12 and 14. Separately, Muhammad Amaluddin and Sarudy stole a car from a commercial area in Kiulap between April 4 and 5.

The vehicles were reported missing by their owners, which led to police investigations during which the trio’s involvements were discovered leading to their arrests.
