Student to represent Brunei for Swiss letter writing competition

Siti Nurfahimah binti Affendy of St Angela’s School is set to represent Brunei Darussalam at the International Letter Writing Competition, organised by the Universal Postal Union in Berne, Switzerland following her win at the national contest, organised by the Department of Postal Services to mark the 146th World Post Day celebration.

Siti Nurfahimah scored 97 per cent for her entry and received a cash prize of BND500, a trophy and a certificate of participation.

In second place was Alliana anak Ayub of St Angela’s School while the third spot was shared by Liyau Yi Qing and Ang Chin Gui of Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB).

They each received a cash prize of BND300, a trophy and a certificate of participation.

Meanwhile, consolation prizes of BND50 were given to Shim Sing Ying and Jayden Lim Zheng Feng of St Andrew’s School, Ayden Chung Xun Wang of Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, Miza Hannani binti Haji Hazren of St John’s School and Eloise Tan Li Ming of Chung Hwa Middle School BSB.

The students were judged by a representative from the Curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the winners presented with prizes by Acting Postmaster General Haji Mohamad Azlan bin Haji Mohammad Junaidi.
