Special flight takes Thais home

The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam with Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) repatriated 20 Thai nationals and three others to Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.

The special flight BI519 which departed Brunei International Airport at 10.55am, arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok at 12.40pm.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul was at the Brunei International Airport to send off the returning Thais including one embassy official, one military student, migrant workers as well as non-Thais who have been granted permission to enter Thailand.

The returning Thai nationals received a care-bag containing face masks and hand sanitiser as well as packed lunch from the ambassador.

This is the fourth special repatriation flight arranged by the embassy.

The first special flight was arranged on June 20 carrying 44 Thai nationals, the second on August 19 carrying 60 passengers comprising 43 Thai nationals and 17 non-Thai nationals and the third was on September 16 carrying 49 Thai nationals.

The embassy expressed its appreciation to the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Immigration and National Registration and Department of Civil Aviation for the assistance to arrange the special flights.
