Religious event marks graduation of 287 UBD students

Universiti Brunei Drussalam (UBD) marked 287 students’ graduation with a Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at the UBD Mosque yesterday.

UBD Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by the graduates followed with the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuhaa until Surah Al-Masad as well as Takhtim and Doa Khatam.

The graduates received certificates and souvenirs. The event concluded with a Doa Kesyukuran read by Imam of the UBD Mosque Mohammad bin Haji Bagol.

The religious event aimed to promote Al-Quran literacy among graduates as well as to support the country’s vision towards becoming a Zikir Nation.

The initiative sought to produce skilled graduates who support the university’s vision ‘Towards Human Excellence’.
