Police nab eight for drunk driving in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR (BERNAMA) – Police arrested eight men for driving under the influence of alcohol at several locations in the Petaling Jaya District of Malaysia in an operation codenamed ‘Op Alkohol’, which ended early yesterday.

Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said those arrested were locals aged between 23 and 57 years.

“Police also issued 54 summonses against road users for various traffic offences during the operation, with 22 of them were summoned for driving or riding without a valid licence.

“Those who were summoned for not having a licence is required to appear before the court at a date to be fixed for court proceedings,” he said in a statement yesterday.
