The Society of Chinese Writers, Artists and Calligraphy recently celebrated Mooncake Festival at the Bali Pit Stop restaurant in Jalan Tungku Link.

Chairman of the society Sng Teck Ann said in a speech that in the new normal, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, “we are fortunate to be able to celebrate the occasion in peace and good health”.

As the world continues to battle the coronavirus outbreak, Sng said the society has postponed the 17th ASEAN Chinese Culture and Art Camp in the country to next year and suspended the Borneo Chinese Essay Writing Competition to promote the cultural tour of Kalimantan.

“Under the current situation, the society will instead focus its efforts on promoting activities within the country by assisting local schools in promoting Chinese culture and art,” he said.
