Military cadets move up the rank

Nine cadets from the Universiti Teknologi Brunei Military Cadet (KT UTB) were promoted during a ceremony at the White Canopy, UTB recently.

UTB Vice-Chancellor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman attended the ceremony along with Acting Commanding Officer of the Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Unit (ASMDB) Major Zool Addyhamddymee bin Haji Bahmin as the guest of honour, who presented insignias to the cadets.

Two Cadet Corporals were promoted to the rank of Cadet Sergeant, three Cadet Lance Corporals to the rank of Cadet Corporal, and four Cadet Privates to the rank of Cadet Lance Corporal, according to a statement.

The KT UTB was formed on February 2, 2013 to provide skills to operate in a military environment, including marching, jungle survival, weaponry, first aid and physical training. To date, 239 cadets have joined the organisation.
