The Intermediate Court yesterday handed a three years and six months’ jail sentence to a local woman for theft-related offences.

Maslina binti Haji Metusin, 45, pleaded guilty to two charges of breaking into a shop and one count of auto theft.

DPP Aeny Zullizam revealed that she committed shopbreaking on April 18 in Batu Satu and a restaurant on Jalan Laksamana Abdul Razak.

Judge Harnita Zelda Skinner further heard that the defendant stole three rice cookers, an electric fan, a delivery car, two mobile phones, two large cans of cooking oil and five whole chickens.

A co-defendant, 32-year-old Saufi bin Seruji, denied all three charges he faces together with Maslina. His trial is ongoing.
