Government assistance recipient to get new house

A foundation laying for the construction of a new house for government assistance recipient Misbah binti Haji Osman in Kampong Mata-Mata, Gadong was held yesterday.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohammed Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim was present.

Assistant Mufti (Buhuth) at the State Mufti’s Office as member of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof also attended.

The house worth BND100,508.33 will have four bedrooms, one living room, a toilet and bathroom and one dining room. Expenditure for the construction of the house will be met through the allocation of the MUIB Zakat fund.

Construction work on the house began on July 30 and is expected to be completed on March 29, 2021.

Misbah, a widow, 58, has seven children and works as a school bus driver at the Ministry of Education (MoE). She currently lives in government housing under the jurisdiction of the MoE.

She receives Zakat of BND195 per month by the 82nd Zakat Issuance Committee from October 2020 to September 2022.
