A car was totally burnt after it caught fire at Jerudong Highway on Saturday afternoon. The male driver escaped before the fire truck arrived.
Two fire trucks with eight fire personnel led by DSO Serudin bin Haji Osman from the Jerudong Fire Station rushed to the scene where the hatchback-type car caught fire.
The fire personnel used a hose pipe supplying water from the fire truck to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire and the loss are under investigation.
The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) advised the public to always ensure car fire safety measures and that all car electrical wirings are installed by accredited workshops.
FRD also advised the public to keep a dry chemical powder fire extinguisher in their cars, and conduct regular inspection on vehicles over seven years.
