Expats told to aid in local workforce advancement

Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Ajaneesh Kumar recently visited Serikandi Group of Companies’ corporate office in Kuala Belait to strengthen ties with the community.

Serikandi Group of Companies Chairman and Managing Director Shaikh Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad, accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Revi Bhaskaran and Serikandi Steering Committee, greeted the envoy upon arrival.

The visit saw the high commissioner speaking with Indian expatriates working under Serikandi Group of Companies, including engineers, designers, technicians and managerial executives, during which he encouraged them to contribute not only to the growth of the companies but the advancement of the local workforce.

Shaikh Khalid expressed his gratitude for the contribution of the high commission towards the growth of the Group, which looks forward to forging mutually beneficial relations with Indian companies.

Meanwhile, the envoy applauded the Group for providing employment for locals in support of Brunei Vision 2035 to diversify the economy.
