Engaging communities in RBPF’s crime prevention bid

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) continued its engagement with local communities through its neighbourhood watch programme as part of its crime prevention initiatives.

A dialogue was recently held between the RBPF, led by Acting Commanding Officer of Brunei-Muara Police District Superintendent Pengiran Muhaimin bin Pengiran Haji Mustapha, and village heads of Mukim Kota Batu at the residence of Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Mukim Kota Batu Penghulu Yang Berhormat Naim bin Haji Kamis. Among the matters brought up during the discussion were developments of the villages in terms of the dissemination of information on the importance of maintaining safety in the communities.

Similar dialogues were carried out by various police stations at Mukim Sungai Kebun, Kampong Lumapas ‘A’ and ‘B’, Kampong Sungai Bunga, Kampong Panchor Murai, Kampong Kiulap, Kampong Menglait, Kampong Bunut Perpindahan, Kampong Pengkalan Batu and Area 3 of RPN Rimba in the Brunei-Muara District; Kampong Bukit Sulang, Kampong Menengah, Kampong Lamunin, Kampong Birau and Kampong Bukit Beruang in the Tutong District; and Teraja Longhouse in the Belait District.

Police stations across the country have been actively carrying out patrol with members of the neighbourhood watch programme, especially in areas known for criminal activities.
