A group of 40 Travel and Tourism subject teachers from government and private secondary school and two officers from Ministry of Education visited Pink House in Kampong Tamoi Ujong of Kampong Ayer recently.
Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by owner of the Pink House Haji Zahari bin Adis.
They were given a briefing followed by a tour.
After the tour, they had the opportunity to prepare Brunei traditional dessert such as selurut, penyaram and calak gandum.
The visit was part of professional development activity organised by Masin Secondary School, a member of Subject Based Committee (SBC) Travel and Tourism.
The visit aimed to observe traditional food making and sheds light on economic activities of residents in Kampong Ayer. It is hoped to help improve the teachers’ content delivery and utilise the information in their teaching. Zuliza binti Haji Rosle from Masin Secondary School presented a souvenir to Haji Zahari.
Secretary of SBC Travel and Tourism from Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary School Norjanah binti Haji Hassan also presented certificates of appreciation to organisers of the visit Zuliza and Siti Suriani binti Salman.
