Four local businesses found violating Ministry of Health (MoH) directives were slapped with compound fines totalling BND1,400 by health enforcement officers in the latest operation codenamed Ops Merati from September 28 to October 4.
Staff were found not wearing face masks. The operation covered Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, Kumbang Pasang, Kiulap, Sungai Kebun, Batu Bersurat, Rimba, Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque, Kampong Serusop in the Brunei-Muara District; Zainab Mosque, Lumut in the Belait District; Pengkalan Mau in the Tutong District; and Negalang and Batu Apoi Mosque in the Temburong District.
The MoH reminded business owners, managers and staff to comply with the instructions and regulations. They must be socially responsible and instil the culture of preventive measures against any spread of COVID-19 in the business premises.
