Brunei Darussalam karate legends continued to inspire the younger generation of exponents following a reunion training session at the Sports School in Kampong Pulaie recently.

The karate legends comprised former national team athletes who represented the country in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games from 1987 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The former national athletes bagged medals during their stints in various SEA Games including silver and bronze.

Organised by the Brunei Shotokan Karate Association (BSKA) in collaboration with Sports School, more than 30 people turned up for the session. The session aimed to teach participants which also involved current students of the Sports School the importance of teamwork.

Sport School students led a mass warm-up session before the legends and participants took part in drills.

The drills focussed on agility and footwork through ladders while participants also jumped through hurdles before performing karate-related moves.

Among the highlights of the training session were a kata demonstration by BSKA Sports School student Alexander Jacklya Dakius and a kumite demonstration by BSKA Sports School students.
