Boost for Brunei, Australia ties

Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Tiffany McDonald at the LegCo Building yesterday.

Secretary to the Cabinet Minister’s Council and Clerk to the Legislative Councils Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar was also present.

During the courtesy call, both sides exchanged views and discussed mutual concerns regarding challenges faced by the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic and hoped for an end to the health crisis soon.

They also exchanged information on parliamentary matters and hoped that the LegCo will continue to forge closer ties with its regional and international counterparts.

Both sides expressed contentment over Brunei-Australia bilateral ties and cooperation and hoped for further development especially in education, defence, commerce and people-to-people exchanges.
