The three-day orientation programme for the new students intake of September 2020 at Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS) concluded on Thursday, with a ceremony at the college multi-purpose room.

In his closing remarks, CEO Dr Haji Azahairani bin Haji Mohd Jamil outlined the college’s vision for the next five to 10 years.

This includes becoming the first private educational institution with its own qualifications and diversified quality programmes by incorporating lifelong learning principles. “Part of our plan is also to be ISO certified, to ensure that our institution is run in accordance with the practices of international standards. We are, at the moment, three-quarters way through in achieving the certification,” said Dr Haji Azahairani.

“Students will also be required to play their role by giving their evaluation on the performances of the KIGS management and lecturers. “Many of our graduates are already successful or beginning to be successful in their respective businesses, as well as winning competitions organised by outside bodies such as BICTA (Brunei ICT Awards),” said the CEO.

He reminded the new students to take their studies seriously through good attendance, classroom participation and communication.
