Fifteen senior police officers with over 10 years of experience in the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) are taking part in a capacity building programme for middle management of RBPF launched at the Setia Raja Conference Room of the Officers’ Mess in Gadong yesterday.
The programme, which will be carried out for five weeks comprising four weeks of theory and one week of experiential learning, aims to upgrade the knowledge and skills in the fields that will help motivate officers in carrying out their duties and responsibilities more effectively.
It will challenge the officers as they will be tested under pressure and in situations outside of their comfort zone. The officers will be given exposure in implementing Brunei Darussalam government policies. The programme also includes a module on leadership and management based on the values of Islamic understanding.
The programme is in cooperation between RBPF and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and covers the needs of the RBPF and middle management officers for advanced knowledge of policy and governance, leadership and human resource management, disaster management and media management.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police ACP Haji Mohammed Fadzillah bin Haji Ismail was the guest of honour.
The Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police urged participating officers to give their full commitment and take the opportunity to upgrade and challenge themselves.
