14 government officials attend online training programme

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, organised a three-day online training programme for 14 officials from the Department of Housing, Ministry of Development (MoD) of Brunei Darussalam from October 19-21.

The training was conducted by the Housing Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), India, under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) e-ITEC Programme. The course covered topics on housing, including concepts of housing and housing typologies; planning and design guidelines for sustainable and affordable urban development; cost effective technology and energy efficiency through green building initiatives which will ensure disaster resilience; modern construction technologies for mass housing; financing mechanism for funding sustainable habitats and road-map for reforms for housing.

The concluding session of the course was attended Abhilasha Joshi, Joint Secretary, Development Partnership Administration, Ministry of External Affairs; Indian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam Charge d’Affaires Ravi Chandar; Housing Development Director Haji Shaharuddin Khairul bin baji Anuar; faculty of HSMI and MoD officials.
