Youth townhall sets national aspirations

The inaugural Youth Townhall held a discussion on ‘Meeting National Aspirations: Youth as Future Ready Agents of Change’ at Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Youth Centre yesterday.

The event was organised by Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Young Professionals Network and Creative Core BN in conjunction with National Youth Day 2020.

The discussion was attended by 112 individuals including some on the virtual platform.

Legislative Council (LegCo) members Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad, Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari and Yang Berhormat Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii attended the discussion.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Youth and Sports) at the MCYS Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said was also present.

The panel lists at the roundtable discussion were Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Vice President (Information Technology) Yusof Sidek; Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd Human Resources Director Zainab MA Omar; Singapore High Commission in Brunei Darussalam Second Secretary Ashish Xiangyi Kumar; founder of BenchLab Wan Nurul Naszeerah Mohd Zainal Abidin Ariff; and MCYS Administrative Officer Grade I Muhammad Faiq bin Haji Rani. It was facilitated by MCYS Youth and Sports Assistant Head Officer (Youth) Dr Muhammad Nuriskandar bin Mohd Hasnan and Young Professionals Network co-founder Aspadiyah Mohd Sah.

Today’s discussion at Silaturrahim Hall of BSB Youth Centre is on ‘NGOs & Community Youth Leaders: Leading for National Development’.
