Mashhad was highlighted in the weekly series of the Webinars on Discover Iran by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with a travel agent in Iran.

Located in the northeast of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mashhad is the second most populous city in Iran and the capital of Khorasan-e Razavi Province. It is a historically important transit city along the ancient Silk Road and there are numerous historical sites with rich architecture and museums to visit.

Saffron makes an excellent souvenir when visiting Iran. Mashhad is the Saffron centre of the world as it offers the best Saffron deals in Mashhad bazaars than elsewhere in Iran.

The city is also famous for its beautiful carpets and jewellery designed and decorated with precious turquoise stones. The city also offers many attractions and recreational facilities.

This webinar series is a good opportunity for establishing connections between tourism companies, universities, businessmen and good for tourism, educational and economic relations between the two Islamic countries. The public is welcome to join the series.
