Vietnam to see positive GDP growth

Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam Tran Van Khoa while highlighting Vietnam’s economic growth, noted that the country is expected to see positive gross domestic product (GDP) growth despite economic impact of coronavirus.

He also spoke on Brunei-Vietnam ties and both countries’ exemplary handling of COVID-19.

He made these comments when the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Brunei Darussalam hosted a reception to mark the 75th National Day at its embassy in Jalan Telanai on Sunday.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Security and ICT) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Pengiran Indera Jaya bin Pengiran Haji Shamsu as well as members of the diplomatic corps were present.

The event began with the national anthems of Brunei and Vietnam.

Following the speech, the ambassador invited the deputy permanent secretary and members of the diplomatic corps to a cake cutting ceremony.

Earlier in the morning, the embassy held a mini golf tournament participated by the diplomatic corps as well as senior government officials. Prizes were presented to the winners right after the reception.
