The Seria Library of the Language and Literature Bureau’s (DBP) two-day garage sale which began yesterday, attracted a large number of visitors.

Assistant Librarian Grade 1 Norhafizah binti Mustaffa said the garage sale is the first major event for the library as the activities they planned had to be cancelled following the COVID-19 outbreak.

“The response from the visitors has been positive. We had students from Anthony Abell College and residents from the surrounding area visiting the Seria Library this morning,” she said.

Norhafizah said the library also received feedback from potential vendors wishing to participate, but as this was the library’s first event for the year, they had limited the booths to only staff members.

“We hope to organise more events in the future as school holidays are just around the corner,” she said.

With five booths, the garage sale also aimed to make the public aware about the activities the library conducts throughout the year. The garage sale continues today.
