Schools, colleges and Sixth Form Centres nationwide held Doa Kesyukuran ceremonies to mark the 30th Teacher’s Day celebration in Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony is part of religious activities conducted in conjunction with the 30thTeacher’s Day Celebration organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA). The ceremony was held to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty, appreciate teachers, and strengthen bonds between teachers and students.
Teacher’s Day in Brunei is celebrated every year on September 23, in conjunction with the birthday of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam to commemorate his contribution towards the development of education in the country.
The celebration is also intended to raise the stature of the teaching profession which has greatly contributed to the development of human resource capacity in the country. The theme for the celebration this year is ‘Pendidikan Berkualiti Teras Kecemerlangan Pelajar’.
