RBAF personnel to join peacekeeping mission

A Doa Selamat ceremony for 30 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel who will be joining the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission under the Malaysian contingent (MALBATT 850-8) led by Major Zulazri bin Gapor was held at Surau Ad-Difa’ yesterday.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Al-Quran verses followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Selamat led by Ustaz Mohd Nur Amin bin Haji Jali.

Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; RBAF Commander Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah, service commanders, deputy permanent secretaries, directors, commandants, senior officers and staff of the MinDef and RBAF were present.

The RBAF has participated in UNIFIL peacekeeping missions since 2008.
