The Borneo Research Centre (PenBorneo) at Anggerek Desa received 30 Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) students pursuing the Tahfiz and Kira’at programme under the Faculty of Usuluddin yesterday.
PenBorneo History Officers Mardiah binti Haji Ramli and Muhd Hefni bin Mahari briefed the students on the PenBorneo manuscript collection and conservation of manuscript records.
Tahfiz and Kira’at programme lecturer Dr Ahmad Bahar bin Mokhtar told the Bulletin that the programme content relates with the Mushaf manuscripts, and that the group learnt of PenBorneo’s rich collection of research material that are accessible for public viewing.
“We wanted to learn more of what PenBorneo has to offer, which might earn our interest for future research. Insya Allah,” he said.
The group also intends to visit the State Mufti’s Office and Brunei History Centre.
