A man who stormed a café with a parang was sentenced by the Magistrate’s Court yesterday to one year in jail and three strokes of the cane.
Magistrate Mohammad Marzuqi bin Sabtu heard from Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhd Qamarul Affyian bin Abdul Rahman that at 9.30am on September 7, Saidee bin Mohammad Yassin, 44, went by bicycle to a home-based café in Kampong Rimba to buy nasi katok. When he arrived, he saw his wife sitting with an unknown man there. “His wife was working at the café,” the prosecutor told the court.
