Myanmar reports 256 new COVID-19 cases, one more death

YANGON (XINHUA) – Myanmar reported 256 new cases of COVID-19 with one more death yesterday morning, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.

The number of infection cases has reached 4,299 while the death toll stood at 61 in the country as of yesterday morning.

Myanmar has seen an increase in the number of locally transmitted cases and deaths, especially in Yangon region during the second wave of the outbreak since August 16.

COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 23 and its first death was reported on March 31.
