KUPU SB celebrates Teacher’s Day

The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), through its Student Affairs Division, Student Representatives Council and Students Association, celebrated Teacher’s Day at its premises recently.

KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar attended the event as the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Asma al-Husna and the singing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, led by lecturer of the Core Knowledge Centre Haji Manan bin Haji Osman and a Doa Tahlil, recited by Director of the Centre of Research Fiqh al-Usrah Hilman bin Haji Salim.

The event also saw a talk by Senior Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Syariah Dr Haji Abdul Rauf bin Muhamad Amin on ‘Hormati Guru Berkat Hidup’, in which he explained that in Islam, knowledge and teacher cannot be separated as a teacher is “a light that illuminates our lives”.

The ceremony also featured a performance and video presentations by students in appreciation of their teachers.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of a special Doa led by Hilman.
