The Society for the Management of Autism-Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei held the first session of Charity Cooking Demo at a café in
Some 40 participants, made up of members from the International Women’s Club (IWC) Brunei, as well as the families and staff of SMARTER Brunei joined.
Acting CEO of SMARTER Brunei Sharifah Adila Surya binti Malai Haji Abdullah in a welcoming remark said with the current pandemic taking a toll on SMARTER Brunei’s finances, the society was at risk of being unable to provide services. “However, with fundraising events and collaborations such as this, I am sure we can survive,” she said.
The Acting CEO also expressed gratitude to Faridah Hanim for conducting the cooking demo.
Proceeds will go to SMARTER Brunei and revamping its kitchen.
Sharifah Adila Surya also extended her appreciation to Datin Rani Alexander for suggesting the idea.
Prior to the cooking demo, the acting CEO presented certificates and tokens of appreciation to Faridah Hanim and Datin Rani Alexander.
The fundraising cooking demo is conducted in three sessions, with the second session to take place on October 4 and final one on October 17.
