Proceeds from the #MakeAnImpact campaign, a fundraising event for Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam by Jab Gym, were presented at a handover ceremony at the Bank Islam Brunei Darsusslam (BIBD) Executive Boardroom at its headquarters in the capital yesterday.
Presenting the mock cheque of BND23,217.25 was Jab Gym Operations Coordinator Fakhrul Aizat Sufri and receiving on behalf of Pusat Ehsan was its Executive and Operational Trustee Pengiran Datin Hajah Noraini binti Pengiran Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin.
BIBD Chief Marketing Officer Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Mohd Jaafar as well as members of Pusat Ehsan and Jab Gym also attended the ceremony.
Hajah Nurul Akmar said BIBD through Community for Brunei takes pride in playing a role in inspiring greater support and inclusivity for members of the community who require assistance.
She said the Community for Brunei acts as a platform to highlight and bring together different community and charitable causes important to Brunei Darussalam.
The campaign unites with BIBD’s ‘Whole of Nation Approach’, adding that the 2030 Agenda complements Brunei Vision 2035, said Hajah Nurul Akmar.
“The government makes it a priority to continue in guaranteeing the welfare of the people at all levels, thus ensuring that no one is left behind,” she said.
Community for Brunei collaborated with Jab Gym to raise funds for Pusat Ehsan from July to August. The campaign featured cold-pressed juices and energy bars made by vocational students from Pusat Ehsan which were made available for purchase on the Community for Brunei marketplace or at the gym.
The campaign raised the money through the sale of over 500 juices, 200 bars and care packages as well as BND20,000 donated by Jab Gym.
The proceeds will go to develop Pusat Ehsan’s new primary school, as well as the maintenance of its educational and rehabilitation programmes.
