Brunei marks 20th day with no new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam entered the 20th day without new COVID-19 cases yesterday keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 145.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) tested 501 samples for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past 24 hours and has carried out 57,192 tests since January 2020.

The latest information on COVID-19 situation in the country was shared by MoH in a press release.

Some 471 individuals are currently undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad while 5,914 have completed their stint since
March 2020.

MoH reminded the public that those wanting to take SARS-CoV-2 swab test for travel must be tested three to five days before their flight, subject to the terms and conditions of the destination. The results will take time and the ministry seeks the public’s patience.

Swab tests can be carried out at the Berakas Health Centre and the Sports Complex of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

At Berakas Health Centre, the tests are available from 8am to noon and 2-4pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, Sunday and public holidays, the tests are conducted from 2-5.30pm.

The swab tests at the Sports Complex of the RIPAS Hospital are conducted from 7am-10pm daily, except on public holidays.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 112 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 27 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
