Bridging the digital divide

Fifty people with different abilities recently completed the Go Digital ASEAN-Brunei Darussalam: Digital Literacy Workshop, organised by Big BWN Project in partnership with PTB and Nisai Brunei.

Supported by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and Pusat Bahagia, the workshop was joined by students from Pusat Bahagia in all four districts to gain basic digital literacy.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin presented certificates to the participants at the end of the workshop.

The programme was part of the Go Digital ASEAN project that focusses on closing the digital gap across ASEAN member states. Implemented by the Asia Foundation with support from google.org, Big BWN Project is set to train up to 2,500 people across the country, including underemployed youth, rural residents, marginalised communities and people with different abilities.
