Belait women converts complete religious course

The Islamic Da’wah Centre organised a closing ceremony for Advance Guidance Course 2 for converts in Kuala Belait (KB) at the Belait District branch of the Islamic Da’wah Centre hall yesterday.

A total of 18 muallaf women of the 34th cohort participated in the 14-day course that began on August 26.

Guest of honour, Manager of the Women’s Institute (WI) Belait District Branch Hajah Halimah binti Abdul Latif was welcomed on arrival by Head of Dakwah Unit Zikrinaidah binti Haji Mat Dikir.

Assistant Head of Dakwah Unit Hajah Salimah binti Haji Hassan, instructors and staff members of the centre were also present.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and followed by a brief speech from the guest of honour.

She congratulated the participants and hoped they continue to expand their knowledge on Islam.

Representative of the cohort Norliza binti Muhammad Junaidi @ Norliza anak Jun expressed her gratitude on behalf of all the participants to the instructors and committee members.

The event continued with a certificate presentation ceremony followed by handing over of trophies to the top three best performing participants.

Best overall performance with a score of 97.7 per cent went to Noor Hayati binti Abdul Rahim; while Nur Hanisah binti Abdul Razzaq and Iffat Aisyah Al-Fatin binti Abdullah Resni came second with a tie score of 97 per cent.

The centre in KB recorded 50 individuals who embraced the Islamic faith this year, compared to 64 last year. The Islamic Da’wah Centre will continue to conduct similar courses to equip new converts with Islamic knowledge.
